Cats Eye Tourmaline is a variety of the mineral tourmaline. It is deep green in color and has chatoyant (cat’s eye) luster. Some stones have a red or brown ring around the cat’s eye effect. The most common colors are pale to medium-dark green, but cats eye can also be found in blues, browns, oranges, yellows, white and pink shades. If the color is uniform throughout the gemstone, the price per carat of Cats Eye Tourmaline can be quite expensive.
