Description
Sri Lankan yellow sapphires are generally medium to dark-toned, but they have a beautiful crispness. The color of the yellow sapphire is particularly attractive. It is not a bright, vivid yellow like the best orange sapphires or Canary diamonds; it is more subdued and darker than those colors. The appeal of this color comes from its understated brilliance – it does not scream for attention but rather softly shines with a quiet, subtle glow. These beautiful yellow sapphires are mined in the southern part of Sri Lanka. The color is a medium-dark, pure yellow, and their cutting is excellent – clean and crisp. Most are cut ovals or cushions.
